CoreTech System Co. (Moldex3D), a supplier of injection molding simulation solutions, announced the addition of Alumold to its mold material database.

Moldex3D material database now offers:  Alumold 500 ROLLED, Alumold 500 FORGED, Alumold 400 and Alumold 350.

For this, the company teamed up with Constellium, a supplier of aluminum products and solutions to aerospace, automotive and packaging industries.

Constellium is a world leader in providing advanced aluminum materials solutions to a myriad of industries, including aerospace, automotive and packaging.

In recent years, there’s growing interest in using aluminum to produce injection molds due to its mechanical and machining characteristics, which helps to improve cycle time, increase ease of machining and polishing, and reduce operating cost.

“Partnering with Moldex3D enables mold makers to obtain detailed knowledge of aluminium mold materials and take into account material properties such as strength and thermal conductivity in the plastic injection molding simulation,” said Sergio Buttignoni, Business Developer Manager and Segment leader – Molds at Constellium.

Tober Sun, Division Manager of Product Support at Moldex3D, said: “We are pleased to introduce the addition of Alumold to Moldex3D’s material database.”

“Moldex3D is constantly updating our material library by partnering with leading material suppliers as part of our ongoing effort to deliver the most accurate simulation results to our users.”
